The Steger Police Department put out a press release statement that Ryan Connell was located deceased when they responded to a call for a well being check at 3602 Chicago Road.
The coroner reported that multiple stab wounds contributed to Ryan’s death.
COURT UPDATES
The suspect, Richard Proctor, 25 was arrested during a court case he had at the Will County Courthouse for a different case. He was charged with two counts of First Degree Murder. He has a $2.5 million bond.
His pretrial dates continue as of June 2021, with the most recent date of June 30th 2021.
Proctor's attorney did not attend court. The court was then reset for July 29th at 9:30 AM.

Ryan Scott Connell, age 28 of Steger, IL. passed away, January 1, 2020. Beloved son of Scott Connell and the late Sherry Connell. Cherished step-son of Rachel Teneyuca. Loving brother of Nicholas Connell, Sean Connell, Jessica Charles, and the late Michael Butterfield. Dear grandson of MaryAnn (late David) Butterfield, and the late Eileen Connell. Devoted cousin to many. Ryan was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
