Richard Garcia
Richard was last seen March 15, 2023 at home. Friends and co-workers became worried because he missed work, a job he loved and never missed a day. Days turned into weeks with no sign of him. He was friendly and made friends everywhere he went. He didn't have much family, and those that were, were somewhat estranged and hadn't been a part of his most recent life. They began a hunt, together with his friends, co-workers and the Chicago community, and they never gave up.
We were notified 4/13/2023 that one of the bodies found in the Chicago River around 10:30 a.m. in the 300 block of North Columbus Drive. It was confirmed to be Richard by his clothing and his cell phone. There is an active death investigation. We hope whatever happened to Richard comes to light. He did not drive and was last seen at home dropped off by a friend.
Rest in Peace Richard.
