September 5, 2022 update
Curtis & Dexter, missing since July 27, 2022 in Lake Michigan. Curtis' family reported to us today that he has been located and is deceased. Our hearts are broken for Curtis & Dexter, their families & loved ones, and all those who know and love them. We thank those that did everything they could to search for them, and bring them home to their loved ones. Our deepest condolences.

Dexter Trendell Sain, 36 July 27, 2022 East Chicago, Indiana / Chicago, Illinois
Dexter Sain and Curtis Herron were reported to be on a 30' white vessel on the East Chicago Marina departing from Pier C heading to Illinois. Their reportedly recorded last location was 1 mile from Cleveland-Cliffs Steel. The search began 7/29/22 when Lake County Marine Unit was notified of the vessel and both men missing. They both had contacted their families letting them know they had issues with the boat, in addition to running out of gas. Both men and the vessel are still missing. The search ceased 8/1/22.
8/16/2022 It has been reported that Dexter Sain has been located in Lake Michigan and is deceased. Our deepest condolences to his family and all those who know and love him.
Curtis Herron is still missing. We continue to pray for Curtis to be brought home.
