Female swimmer missing from the Monroe Harbor in Chicago has been found and identified.

A woman continues missing after she disappeared, swimming with three other friends near the Monroe Harbor Tuesday, July 7, 2020. The body of this 24 year old woman has been located, but her identification is not yet been released.


While swimming, the winds began pushing the boat away from them in to the break wall, according to the Chicago Tribune. It was a quick, sudden storm which they did not anticipate, with lightning and thunderstorms. The unidentified woman was not located until the morning after.


She was later identified as Ameera Muhammad of Bronzeville. Our deepest condolences to her family, friends and those who knew and love her.



None of the swimmers reportedly had a life vest on.
