May 9, 2022, Milana Li disappeared after a normal routine walk in her neighborhood about 4:00 p.m. She was reported missing after she didn't show up from her walk around the Westside Regional Trail to Barrows Park. She left everything at home except her cell phone. The next day, her body was found in a small stream in Westside Linear Park near SW Barrows Road and SW Horizon Boulevard.
Milana was a fluent Russian Speaker and English was her second language. They had recently relocated to the area and Milana was not familiar with her surroundings.
Milana was initially listed as a runaway.
Her body was found in a small stream near the trail 2 days later. The autopsy ruled Milana's death a homicide, but the cause of death has not been released.
May 20, 2022 the Beaverton Police Department reported that Sixteen-year-old Daniel Ryan Gore was charged with first-degree murder in Milana's disappearance and death.
Gore was on probation at the time of Milana's abduction on non-violent charges from Theft, Arson and criminal mischief.
