John Scanlon, 51 was last seen near his residence in Grand Rapids Michigan March 18, 2021 about noon. Moments later, his girlfriend noticed he was gone and so was his vehicle. There was no warning, no argument, no reason for his disappearance. He simply vanished.
A missing persons report was filed immediately after. His family and loved ones were notified, but silence came over his disappearance quickly. No phone activity, nothing. The family contacted a private investigator and soon after, results came in.
The private investigator located John's vehicle near Cermak Road in China Town, Chicago, about 2 1/2 hours away from where he was last seen. The vehicle was found abandoned. No sign of John or where he may have gone. It was unknown how his vehicle got there.
Easter afternoon a body was found in the Chicago River. Today, 4/6/2021 the family has confirmed with us that he has been identified.
