April 25, 2018 in Lake Lou Yaeger in Litchfield, Montgomery County, human remains were confirmed to be found when a utility worker clearing brush on a hillside about 100 yards from the shoreline.
At the time of discovery, friends, family, law enforcement and the Missing Persons Awareness Network NFP 501(c)3 were actively searching for Denita Hedden, 37 of Royal Lakes, Illinois.
The Illinois State Police stepped in and set a press conference confirming that the remains were not that of Hedden's and they were not releasing further information at the time.
We spoke with the Montgomery County coroners office which gave us a few more details.
Details:
Only partial skeletal remains located. Torso not recovered, one or more limbs not recovered and one or both hands not recovered.
Female, may be black with a mixture of Native American / Hispanic
Archaeological review these remains may be historic.
Estimated age range 25 -50
Additional bones were found almost petrified.
